Agnetha originally intended for her "I Stand Alone" album to be her final work as a solo artist, but in , she decided she needed to pay tribute to her favorite artists who had impacted her career-this time doing it on her own terms. She even recruited her daughter, Linda to provide backing vocals. Linda's first solo appearance was on Agnetha's Swedish Christmas album.

Her voice sounds great despite the long absence. She has stated that she is quite proud of this album, as there was no pressure to record it.

Agnetha blows me away with this album. This album is absolutely stunning. Some of the songs made me speechless and sent a shiver up my spine. I have more albums, 45's, CD's, cassettes etc.

In recent years when I download a new album I hate to admit to listening to a minute or two of a song to see if I like it then note it and move on to the next. This album may be the only one I have listened to in decades where I listened to every second from start to finish. Whats more I was only a kid in the 60's but remembered these songs as my folks used to play music like this on our massive record stereo console. It really brought back fond memories.

Agnetha really hit a homerun in the selection of her favorite tunes from her teen years. You can tell the songs meant alot to her because she truly did them justice in her interpretations. I was shocked to read this was Agnetha's first album in 17 years.

It must have been intimidating to have such a lay off and then do an album, expecially of your favorite songs that are well-known tunes. Some people will never accept anyone but the original group or singer but you would be wrong.

Agnetha nails them and outside of one song "Fly Me To the Moon", which I think Sinatra did in a more up-tempo style, she does all the songs justice.

I see Agnetha has a new album coming out in May which is 9 years after this one. I've pre-ordered it and can't wait. Only two album releases over 26 years makes me relish each one. Agnetha hadn't lost a thing after the first gap of 17 years and after seeing the video release of one of her songs from the new album coming out she still proves she is a timeless beauty and great singer of our generation.

Thanks, Agnetha! I grew up in the 70's, in the days of AM radio. I have a fond memory of riding my bicycle in the neighborhood and hearing Abba's then US pop hit "Mama Mia" through the speakers of childhood youth. Sure I gravitated to classic rock as time marched on, but I always viewed the Abba "videos" I'd see late night on the music shows with fascination. Mostly fascination with the beauty and soaring vocals of Agnetha and Frida, and did I say Agnetha?!

I've had the odd Abba Gold greatest hits CD's because I always seemed to love love love those harmonies, but never really listened all that much. I started viewing again all the old videos and found myself mesmerized and captivated once again; almost as if there was a connection to those days thirty five or so years ago when I heard "Mama Mia" over and over on AM radio.

What I most fell in love with besides the outward beauty was Agnetha's incredible voice with it's emotive beauty and melody. I found myself needing to see if I could find anything of recent note that she had recorded, and via the wonder of site I ordered and received a cd of "My Colouring Book" for an incredibly low price and it was shipped all the way from the UK.

This is an incredible CD, Agnetha sounds amazing and the songs are the types of lilting ballads of days gone by. The musicianship is first rate, and the orchestration is simply amazing-there are points where violins soar in highly emotional accompanyment to Agnetha's still youthful sounding note for note voice. She hasn't lost a thing, she hits the high notes with ease and has that same styling and enunciation we're all familiar with. Nothing is over-done on this CD; the songs are timeless and flow effortlessly and are oh so easy to enjoy.

I love homage's such as this to the past, and done by Agnetha singing her personal favorites is very special. So glad I found this, so glad I "discovered" Agnetha even apart from Abba. What a talent, what a CD. See all reviews.
